Abstract

Marxism, as a set of theories that share and claim Karl Marx ́s influence, has had different historical moments which have been formed in the heart of political struggle, unraveling class struggle in the broadest sense of the concept. During the sixties there was a breaking point from classical Marxism, when different schools of thought were born that we could call “heredox stances” Marxism. Nowadays, under social conditions of globalized capitalism with a multicultural hegemonic ideology and capitalism of Asian (non – liberal) values, new orthodox Marxist tendencies have been created. For this new air of “Metaphysics”, the concept of “commodity fetishism” is key. This article seeks to unravel the reinterpretation of the concept and its usefulness in order to understand the current capitalist world.
