Rules for submission

Important: From the call 4-1 (2024) the submissions must be sent via Open Journal System. If you enter through the ICANH website https://www.icanh.gov.co/ you will find the platform in one of the options of the Specialized Library tab or Specialized Journals. If you enter through the link https://revistas.icanh.gov.co/ you can register through the "Send an article" tab.

The reviews, bibliographic essays and articles intended for submission must have the following requirements:

  • Times New Roman font, 12 points, single line spacing, A4 page size, and all margins must be 3 centimeters each.
  • The version of the paper to be submitted must be sent in Word format, for Windows.
  • The articles and bibliographic essays must have an extension of 9.000 words, including spaces, footnotes and the bibliography at the end of the main text.
  • Abstracts in both English and Spanish must be written at the beginning, with a maximum extension of 800 character (10 lines).
  • Key words, and the title in both English and Spanish are mandatory.
  • Reviews must have a 3.000 words of extension. Book reviews are accepted if the book reviewed was published not more than 5 years before the submission calling and must be about themes related with the Journal’s specialty. If possible, the author of the reviewed book will be invited to write a reply, no longer than 2 or 3 pages, so a debate space can be generated within the Journal.
  • The journal will use the citation standards of the Chicago Manual of Style in its updated edition.
  • The following information must be consigned in a separated sheet: Title, name, academic affiliation, and abbreviated curriculum of the author (10 lines maximum included the ORCID)       
  • If maps, illustrations or any other graphic material is included in the paper, a digital copy of each image must be sent in JPG or TIFF format; with a 300 PPI (Pixels per Inch) resolution. The source of images must be clearly stated. The author must manage the reproduction rights of the images. If the paper has graphics or tables, they must be sent separately in an Excel document, indicating the source of the information contained in them.
