Esta entrevista aborda la disyuntiva existente entre la "historia científica" y la "historia literaria", desde la experiencia del historiador mexicano Antonio Rubial García, quien a través de sus estudios sobre la religiosidad novohispana, traslada la escritura de los resultados de sus investigaciones desde la forma académica hacia la novela histórica, sin que ello implique la pérdida del rigor historiográfico.
