Configurations of space, time and subjectivity in a context of terror: the Colombian case

Abstract

Increasingly, violence in Colombia occurs practices of terror, which are translated, among other things, in massive population displacements. Regularly, these practices are analyzed from the perspective of the strategies of armed actors, with emphasis in issues such as territorialization, temporal calculations, and the imposition of sense. This article, on the other hand, tries to analyze the impact of terror over the representations of the affected population. lt suggests that it is necessary to reserve the previous concepts and, contrary to what was previously thought, to impose desterritorialization processes, rupture with temporal referents, and dissociation of subjectivity. This state of things is related to the fact that, in its great majority, the civil population has become a hostage of armed actors.
