Bipartisanship and civil wars through Colombian couplets

Through a study of the folksongs of the era, this article examines popular versions of the events of the civil wars and the political role of the traditional parties, exploring the differences between these versions and those recorded in official speeches. Emotions and sentiments are favored as important factors in this distinction.
