Call for Submissions
RCA 2026 CALENDAR AND PUBLICATION SCHEDULE:
NEXT CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS ON ANY TOPIC: ONE-TIME CALL JULY 1-31, 2026
The call for submissions on any topic will be open only during the month of JULY 2026.
During the call, unpublished and original contributions presenting theoretical, empirical, or methodological contributions to anthropology or related social sciences (archaeology, sociology, cultural studies, etc.) will be accepted. Submitted articles will compete for space in the journal's traditional miscellaneous section.
Due to its disciplinary specificity, the journal does not process contributions from other areas of knowledge such as the exact and natural sciences or other social disciplines such as psychology, economics, philosophy, arts, literature, education, or communication sciences. Manuscripts submitted to the journal outside the deadlines established in each call for submissions will also not be processed. If the contributions submitted for the miscellaneous section exceed the maximum editorial processing capacity, authors will be notified at the time of submission.
All manuscripts submitted to the RCA must fully comply with the journal's editorial standards and ethics, which are available on the website. By submitting a contribution, the RCA understands that authors agree to comply with these parameters.
The editorial evaluation process used by the journal consists of four stages and requires at least 12 months:
1) Submission phase, carried out by the RCA editorial team.
2) External review phase, carried out by two external academic peers who will evaluate according to the double-blind method (see evaluation format in the “Editorial Process” tab).
3) Editorial phase, carried out by the RCA editorial team.
4) Production phase, carried out by the RCA editorial team and the ICANH publishing house.
Authors can find out all the latest news about their submission by using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) online editorial manager. In case of any technical issues with the platform, please contact the editorial team at rca.icanh@icanh.gov.co.
As in previous years, there will be a single call for new miscellaneous contributions this year due to the journal's commitments to the publication of already scheduled thematic dossiers.
