.Abstract
In June 1953, when the Colombian journal of anthropology was founded, the editorial that opened the new publication was entitled "Past and Future of our Anthropology". This introductory text explicitly marked the beginning of a new era for the former National Ethnological Institute and its publications. On the one hand, it recognized the trajectory initiated by Justus Shoteliuss and Paul Rivet and their contributions, and, on the other hand, it indicated the need to reconstitute the discipline through institutional and educational reorganization. We would like to take up again the spirit of that first editorial to foresee the future of Colombian anthropology from the publication that has largely represented it.
